What is the problem you found?

The problem we found was that buildings that are built unsustainably also function unsustainably.

What is your opportunity?

How might we build and operate sustainably?

Who is your audience?

Our customers are investors and tenants. The population in the world in 2020 was growing at a rate of around 1.05% per year. The current average population increase is estimated at 81 million people (about twice the population of California) per year. This means that real estate will be in more demand whether it is commercial or residential. The Australian real-estate market alone is worth about 9.9 trillion dollars alone so there is plenty of profit to be made as well as a completely revolutionized real-estate market. Today plenty of people are in the market for real estate whether it's for a new home or office building with today's loans it is now much easier to purchase real estate so if we offer innovative real estate for a good price, it's almost certain profit will be made.

What Is Your Solution?

Our solution is a specialized mechanical rapid-build building platform that focuses on the development of high-rise net-zero buildings. The way the platform will operate is in three phases prefabrication, delivery, and construction. In the prefabrication phase, sustainable materials will be used to create elements such as the steel structure and walls of the building in a factory, these elements will take into account the space for utilities such as hydraulic rails (which will be covered at the end), water, electricity, and the overall design of the building. In the delivery phase, the prefabricated parts will be delivered directly to the construction site prepared and stored until needed. In the final phase of the construction, the prefabricated parts will be lifted by the platform via one of the four cranes and connected to the steel structure. The platform will utilize hydraulic rails to move up while collecting the parts and move down when the operation is over. Some of the features that will come with the platform are 360-degree elevators to allow workers to access points in the building, a construction hoist for safety, air-conditioning, and a primary management system with cameras as well as the primary control. This platform aims to reduce the overall building time of high-rise buildings.

A Net-Zero Building (zne) is a building with net-zero energy consumption meaning that the total amount of energy used by the building on an annual basis is equal to the amount of renewable energy created on-site. The goal is that these buildings contribute less overall greenhouse gas to the atmosphere. The Net-Zero Building we designed will have many sustainable features such as photovoltaic concrete, solar panels, and an energy-efficient smart control panel. Photovoltaic concrete is a new kind of concrete that generates its own electricity by converting light to energy. This can be done using a process called semiconducting, which is like how solar panels work. When the sun shines onto a solar panel, energy from the sunlight is absorbed by the PV cells in the panel. This energy creates electrical charges that move in response to an internal electric field in the cell, causing electricity to flow. The energy efficiency smart control will monitor the output of electrical sockets and turn them off when given permission. We aim to target both residential and commercial use to allow us to accommodate ecological and human needs.

Benefits also include

  • isolation for building owners from future energy price increases

  • increased comfort due to more-uniform interior temperatures reduced total cost of ownership due to improved energy efficiency

  • reduced total net monthly cost of living

  • reduced risk of loss from grid blackouts
