What is the problem you found?

The problem I found was healthcare workers, recovered COVID-19 patients and hotel employees are susceptible to catching the Corona virus.

What is your opportunity?

How might we help protect people who are susceptible to catching Corona virus?

Who is your audience?

My audience is healthcare workers, recovered COVID-19 patients and hotel employees. This will help protect healthcare workers, recovered COVID-19 and hotel employees, as if one of them gets a notification saying there is a change in their, breathing, temperature or cough, they can go get tested. Hence, protecting other healthcare workers, recovered COVID-19 patients and hotel employees from becoming infected.

What Is Your Solution?

In the world, Corona virus has been spreading to multiple countries, without a trace of how to detect it and stop its spread. Healthcare workers, recovered COVID-19 patients and hotel employees are very susceptible to catching the virus as they are meeting people who could potentially be infected or are carriers. If these people come into contact with a person, while they don't know they are asymptomatic carriers they are transmitting the disease to others.

My solution is to create a watch to help detect, temperature, breathing and cough. This way, if a healthcare worker, recovered patient or hotel employee comes into contact with someone with the disease, their temperature will go up or their breathing pattern might change and the watch will send a notification that your breathing or temperature has changed. Therefore, they can infer they might have gotten the virus from that person and make that person and them-self go for a checkup. Hence, avoiding infecting others.

The Corowatch will operate using a series of sensors. For temperature detection there will a thermo-detector. For breathing, you detect the oxygen saturation through a pulse oximeter. For cough, firstly a sensor will sense the diaphragm contracting and the lungs expanding. Then the watch itself will listen to audio of the cough through a microphone to determine whether it is a dry or productive cough. For the viewer to see the data, they have to check the watch's screen.

Other devices that have any of these features are, some watches can detect breathing and Sleep Apnea devices also detect this. Watches and infrared thermo-detectors can detect temperature. Right now there are some technologies developing audio-based examination of cough. This, summarises how the Corowatch could be possible to create as some of its features have already been developed in other devices.
