No Poverty

What is the problem you found?

There's a park that's just down the road from my house and in the bushes there was a tent that someone was having to live in illegally. Today when my family and I went for a walk we passed the tent and noticed the council clearing everything up. It was really sad to see that person's belongings being taken away. During these tough times with the Coronavirus out break many people are fortunate enough to have a home to stay protected in. However, there are many other people who don't have homes or are unlucky to lose their's and are at risk of catching Covid-19. I have found a way that could be fixed.

What is your opportunity?

How might we provide a safe place for people to shelter during this pandemic?

Who is your audience?

Poor or homeless people that are highly exposed to the Covid 19

What Is Your Solution?

If people who own a shop and have gone out of business due to the Coronavirus and no longer have a use for the building and they still have to pay rent for it, why not put it to good use by reopening their doors as temporary shelters for the homeless? Shelter Shops will protect people going through poverty from Covid-19 which would then lead to reducing the spread of the virus. It will also help people without a home by giving them a temporary place to stay without illegally pitching tents or sleeping on pavement in the streets and owners will be able to use their shop so the money for rent won't feel wasted. As well as shops, there are many empty Airbnbs and hotels which also could be used as potential shelter shops.

Support Required

Development

To make this work we would need shop owners to be willing to provide their shop as a shelter.
