Reduced Inequality

What is the problem you found?

People who use wheelchairs, or elderly people who may have mobility issues can struggle to access upstairs areas.

This could restrict their quality of life and exclude them from using certain spaces in day to day life.

What is your opportunity?

How might we make it easier for disabled and elderly people to travel up stairs?

Who is your audience?

Our customer is people who use wheelchairs and cannot access spaces that require you to climb a flight of stairs.

What Is Your Solution?

An extendable robotic arm that attaches onto the back of a wheelchair that is able to grab onto handrails and pull the wheelchair user up the stairs.

This makes it easier for people with wheelchairs to go to previously inaccessible areas, especially in buildings where the infrastructure is not suited to an elevator.
