Future of Travel Design Challenge Winners
Between July and November 2022, Young Change Agents partnered with Flight Centre Travel Group on the Future of Travel Youth Design Challenge. From the Northern Territory to Tasmania over 3,000 students participated in the challenge, with 150 entries submitted from 64 schools across Australia. The challenge? "How might we create innovative solutions to design the Future of Travel?"
The challenge was further split into 5 key themes, each covering different aspects of travel:
-
Sustainability: How might we make travel more sustainable in order to protect our world?
-
Inclusion and Accessibility: How might we increase inclusivity, access and affordability of travel?
-
Culture and Identity: How might we enable travel to express and advocate for culture?
-
Regional and Rural Development: How might we increase tourism to regional and rural Australia to engage and support local communities?
-
Technology: How might we help travellers make better choices or improve their experiences? Bringing tech and tourism together to improve people's journeys.
Using design thinking, and led by talented educators across the country, young people worked in teams or as individuals to ideate solutions to reimagine the future of travel. This page highlights the top ideas that were submitted.
