What is the problem you found?
How might we boost participation and connection within the community?
Customer / Problem
The Logan community suffers from a lack of community interaction, resulting in a sense of disregard towards communal facilities and areas.
Our customers are people in the Logan area that do not feel any connection to the people in their community. They may be bored and feel isolated and are looking for ways to meet others and connect with their community.
What Is Your Solution?
'Athena Art' is a social enterprise that offers free art classes in the Logan area.
The purpose of the classes is to allow residents to connect with their families and other members of the community, whilst also expressing themselves creatively.
The classes are free unless participants wish to take their artwork home, in which case they will be charged for their piece and the materials used. Depending on the quality of the work, the leftover art that isn’t taken home will either be auctioned off or displayed within the art studio. All profits will go directly to funding more classes.
Athena Art was able to develop an MVP of their art classes, which was delivered at the Logan Catapult Youth Incubator in June 2021.
