Eco Homes | Ensuring housing remains affordable on the Sunshine Coast

What is the problem you found?

Our problem is the increase in the cost of rent and properties, as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic affecting the market. Sunshine Coast locals are being forced out of their homes due to rent prices increasing at a rate higher than levels of income.  

How might we provide more affordable housing on the Sunshine Coast?

Customer / Problem

Our customers are people that are passionate about the environment and are willing to spend extra money on sustainably produced items. They also want to help the homeless and people that are being forced to move away from their homes. 

What Is Your Solution?

Our Idea:
We wish to persuade the government to implement a cap on the increase in rent on the Sunshine Coast. Ideally with 30% of Sunshine Coast renters with a 10% cap on their rent increase.

HOW?
We will use the proceeds from our sustainable homeware products, to campaign to councils, and eventually the Queensland governments to achieve our goal – while also helping clean our beaches and waterways.
