Providing support to struggling farmers in drought affected areas by creating positive rural/urban connections
How might we get better internet access for farmers?
Customer / Problem
Farmers affected by the current NSW drought crisis are having to prioritise their spending on livestock (and/or agriculture), and thus need financial support in order to fulfil other basic needs - namely maintaining internet access; a critical aspect of daily life especially at a time when communication is so necessary and emergencies are a regular possibility.
We aim to establish a system by which we give our farmers internet access through the funding we would source from urban dwellers. With the aid of customers in urban areas, we would be able to provide a cheap, reliable internet service for farmers affected by the drought crisis, keeping them connected at a time when access to resources, support and regular communication is crucial.
