Problem Statement
How might we combat obesity in Australian youth?
Customer / Problem
- In 2018, 1 in 4 Australian children were overweight or obese.
- Only 30% of Australian children met the physical activity guidelines.
- 70% of Australian children are not getting enough physical exercise
Our customers are families; parents who are finding it difficult to get their kids to be active; and children who need to be active but also want to have fun.
Solution
Our solution is a mobile app called KRACL Active Kids. The app comes with an animal avatar that the user needs to look after using a digital currency that can be earned through the completion of a variety of exercise routines available on the app. Each routine would run for 5 minutes and would cater to a range of ages and abilities from 6-12. Our app provides an effective motivation for children to get active as it is gamified, simple, allows children to look after something special and also encourages them to be social.
