How might we support the youth that have been affected by bush fires?

The Adelaide Hills community has been hugely affected recently by bush fires and as locals we have sympathy for everybody involved. Many children have been unable to speak to their parents whilst they're out fighting fires, which makes them feel lonely and scared. Many children have also lost their homes to this horrible natural disaster. 

What Is Your Solution?

Our solution is a social enterprise that creates teddy bears for the youth whose parents are affected by or out fighting bush fires. The bears will have inbuilt voice recordings and live messages for children by their loved ones. They will be comforted by their bear and will feel closer to the person. When there is no phone service, they will still be able to hear their family members' voices. 

There will be options to send a message to the bear, as well as pre-recorded messages that the loved one has set up prior to their absence. As written messages that we are all used to receiving and reading now-days can seem insensitive or distant, these physical voice messages will support the children through the separation with their loved ones on a more personal level. We also believe that childrens' behaviour and habits will improve through using our product. To make the bears even more personal we would sell the traditional bear with 6 different service people outfits as well as the limited-edition bears; such as Australian animals.
