What is the problem you found?

How might we educate others to reduce plastic and increase recycling to save the ocean?

Our problem was that too much plastic is being dumped in our ocean and we needed to reduce plastic and think of ways how to reduce that plastic, as well as thinking of ways to increase recycling.

We chose this because we all had connections to the ocean.

Customer / Problem

Our customer is anyone who cares about the environment and likes jewellery and other objects that could be made out of recycled materials. Our first customers will probably be young children who get their parents to buy our products and older people who are interested in art and local products.

What Is Your Solution?

Our solution is the ‘Save The Ocean’ challenge. Whoever collects the most recycling, (at home and school) and the least amount of plastic wins. This helps the ocean because everyone is encouraged to collect recycling instead of plastic, after we collect this we send it off to help other companies to make objects out of recycled materials. We plan to use social media to spread awareness and pass around our company.

We will sell bracelets and other items made out of recycled materials to make money to fund the challenge.

Advice

It would be helpful to have advice to have others ideas, so we can build on our work for a final product. Mr Hughes gave us advice to build more onto our final school challenge, this helped so we could have a better product.
