Problem Statement
How might we turn sea waste into a vehicle to raise awareness about the impact of plastic on our oceans?
Customer / Problem
Our customers are;
1. People in our region looking to find cheap, local and ethical clothing. These customers are often frustrated by how hard it is to find such clothing at affordable prices within the region.
2. Organisations like the Sea Bin Project recovering rubbish from our oceans. One of their biggest challenges is that most of the otherwise recyclable plastic they recover are either already contaminated when recovered or don't get recycled properly.
Solution
Waste 2 wear is a fashion company that takes certain ocean-recovered plastic and turns them into wearable fabric, then to fashion accessories including clothing, footwear, jewellery and more. The accessories come with subtle messages about the impact of plastic on our oceans.
Our solution involves a partnership with the Sea Bin Project and similar organisations. We will take the rubbish collected from the ocean and turn it into merchandise that we will sell.
