Want to improve the mental health of Aussie youth?

Entrepreneurship
Heart Hands

Join us as a mentor for high-school teams who are developing their product-based solutions!

Between April and July 2019, five teams of youth will be taking their social enterprise idea from paper-to-market and we are looking for 20 skilled young professionals (aged under 25) to be their brains trust and general cheer squad. Are you a marketing and customer acquisition legend, product/industrial design hero, branding and packaging master, production/manufacturing expert, pricing/finance whizz? We need you!

Background

One in four young people are living with a mental health disorder (Black Dog Institute). Young Change Agents is a NFP social enterprise that helps youth see problems as opportunities through the lens of social entrepreneurship. In our program, we see youth choose mental health as an issue they want to tackle time and time again. We have been successful in receiving a Youth Opportunities grant from NSW Department of Family and Community Services in order to help 5 teams of high school youth launch their social enterprise.

Youth supporting youth to succeed

These teams will bring their idea to a special 3 day workshop in the Easter school holidays (April). During this time the mentors will focus on preparing them to launch their products and a crowd fund campaign in June. Your skills, expertise and knowledge will be an integral part of getting this off the ground. The activities will include: customer profiling, how to find and market to these potential customers, budgeting and deciding on a pricing structure, finalising product design and packaging solutions, finding production partners to create products, help with distribution and logistics.

Time commitment: Minimum of 2 hrs Friday 26th, Saturday 27th or Sunday 28th April, face to face in Sydney CBD, ad-hoc ongoing support to launch date and to promote products to your networks once live. We will work with you to determine the best fit for your skills and availability.
