Transforming Transport Challenge

Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

Transforming Transport is a collaboration between Young Change Agents and Southern Cross University (SCU) in the Northern Rivers, Coffs Harbour, and Gold Coast regions. The purpose of the program is to inspire the next generation of green entrepreneurialism for all young people, including students currently underrepresented in the STEM space; female-identifying students, and indigenous students. During the Transforming Transport program, youth will overcome traditional barriers as they develop and apply STEM and entrepreneurial knowledge to launch social enterprise solutions in relation to the Future of Transport.  We’re working with 4 schools from each of the regions to provide 1-day design challenge for up to 40-50 students and the opportunity for the top two teams from each to progress to a 2 day Youth Incubator (YINC). During YINC, students will be connected with industry-leading mentors, academics, and university students, as well as accessing the facilities at SCU including their award-winning Kombi conversion project (from petrol to electric). We are able to provide this opportunity thanks to an Australian Government Community STEM Engagement Grant and encourage your school to submit an EOI if you're interested in getting involved.
