What is the problem you found?

How might we make it easier for deaf and communication impaired people to be more independent when travelling?

Customer / Problem

People requiring special or inclusive assistance to travel.

What Is Your Solution?

Special Assistance ServiceThe "SPECIAL ASSISTANCE SERVICE" that "Welcome World" would provide is designed to give information that is targeted to the following groups of travellers: persons with vision, physical, hearing or communication impairments, or those who are older. We envisage this service would follow Government guidelines, and be regulated, accredited and monitored to disability and support standards.

The "Special Assistance Service" image/icon we have designed, uses well known images, and could only be displayed by businesses that had received appropriate training, and remained upskilled to provide services. It could be used and displayed in a range of ways - on their 'bricks and mortar' establishments, publications such as travel brochures and magazines, but we believe would be most effectively used as a 'BUTTON ON THEIR WEBSITE' with a drop-down menu with the ranges of services and links to further information and personnel who would provide support - including SKYPE contact and TTY communication for the hearing impaired and Deaf.

Information in the drop-down menu would include: quick direct access to SUITABLE transport (air/land/sea), various options of accommodation, data associated to medical facilities (and their accommodation options), disability specific related information, disability friendly tour companies and groups, NDIS related support information - this list is far from complete.

A suitably trained LIAISON OFFICER could be available behind a "CONTACT US" link, to answer questions, and receive feedback. It is also envisaged, that this company would be SET UP and staffed, with many PERSONS WITH  DISABILITIES leading the way! :)
