What is the problem you found?

How might we teach cyber safety to kids of young ages in a positive environment?

Customer / Problem

Our target audience is kids aged between 8-10. Many kids this age play video games often and they come across viruses and hackers online but don't understand why cyber safety is important. They also don't have the knowledge and skills to safely interact with digital technology. In addition, we found that kids are experiencing increased social anxiety which is negatively impacting their mental health and wellbeing.

What Is Your Solution?

Our idea is an Interactive TV Show with an app that enhances viewers' independence and thinking skills. On the show, a guest is welcomed and starts by playing a game, and then find a specific problem (such as a virus on their game) which is installed in by the team at CYB3R. This team hands the guest complicated instructions. The rest of the episode revolves around the CYB3R team and viewers at home helping the guest comprehend the complicated instructions and solve the problem.

Specific skills are taught within the episode, to help the viewer solve the problem. One of our ways of teaching includes a 'call-in-professional', who is an expert in the digital technology industry. We hope to make this more entertaining by including activities like a scavenger hunt within the episode.

The audience at home can interact with the audience at home with the app. The app consists of a 'live-discussion' during episodes so they can discuss certain questions the host has given them. In addition, mini games are added frequently such as match-up games that viewers can gain points from. There are also competitions relating to all art forms, to bring out the audiences strengths.

CYB3R hopes this product can teach kids about cyber safety as well as enhance positivity. At CYB3R we believe that mistakes help kids learn and develop thinking skills.
