What is the problem you found?

How might we help students focus on their school work and not be distracted by social media?

Customer / Problem

Our target audience are school-aged students both in primary and secondary settings, although it is still viable for tertiary studies as well. We found that students are often distracted by non-school related content on social media, because it is more interesting and engaging than homework and schoolwork.

We want to address this problem by taking the engaging and interesting elements of social media and applying to homework and schoolwork to motivate students to learn.

What Is Your Solution?

The product our group decided to create is an app that could help teenagers improve their time management skills, which will not only help them to complete their schoolwork, but also organise other areas of their life.

iWork will help homework become a healthy and fun experience, using a gamification approach to offer users rewards if they work for certain periods of time.

This will help make learning more engaging and also allow each student to figure out their own unique learning style and what motivates them to achieve their study goals. The app will also feature positive and motivational quotes to encourage students to keep going.

We have created wireframe prototypes to map out the user experience.

This shows the prototype of our app, using ADOBE XD

Support Required

Funding

We would need funding to bring the app to life - starting with developing an MVP.

  • A mobile platform to put the app on
  • Hire a professional app maker to code it together
