What is the problem you found?
How might we make fishing happen at Jordan Rivers Learning Federation?
Customer / Problem
Young people who are disenfranchised with school and struggle to focus in the classroom.
This can hinder educational outcomes, lead to a diminished sense of self and contribute to poorer mental wellbeing. These young people may seek guidance and a new outlet to develop skills.
What Is Your Solution?
The Jordan River Learning Federation Fishing program, also known as "Snakey Bakey", is a mentoring program that partners older people experienced in fishing, with youngsters who are keen to learn.
The program will bring the community together through the shared interest in fishing.
Participants of the program will benefit from greater mental wellbeing, a sense of connection to others, accomplishment from learning new skills and being in nature.
The program will be funded through a variety of measures, such as hiring fees for fishing equipment or a monthly membership payment.
