What is the problem you found?

How might we support our school and community to sustain a healthy lifestyle?

Customer / Problem

Our customers are members of our community who need options to support a healthy lifestyle. The lack of these options in our communities affects people's mental and emotional wellbeing. It would benefit the community greatly to have alternative spaces to engage members of the community and attract new members too.

What Is Your Solution?

We have come up with the idea for a school/community garden to support healthy living. We will use the school garden as a model for expanding into the community. Some of the produce will be given to our community, and a part of the funds will go to the Hornsby Women’s Shelter, which will highlight our Catholic values and reflect positively on our school. Funds will be covered by fundraisers such as sausage sizzles and mufti days (gold coin donations).

The garden can promote in-school events such as healthy eating days.
The garden itself can be built by senior tech classes to assist those who choose early-entry.
The location of the garden is carefully chosen to ensure both safety and attractiveness.

Out of the way, low risk of ruined produce, close to a prayer space
