What is the problem you found?

How might we help people who are victimised by racism and verbal put downs?

Racism and putting others down is still a prevalent issue around the globe. Many people are afraid of the differences within society and some find enjoyment in putting others down. People can be really judgemental of others. Victims of racism and put downs can become depressed and feel unsafe, parents of victims feel worried and stressed for their loved ones, and the perpetrators may not understand the effects of or know how to change their behaviour.

What Is Your Solution?

Our solution is a social enterprise that sells stress relieving plush toys and merchandise that reflect a diverse society in their design, with profits funding group therapy and support workshops for people who experience discrimination. The hands-on workshops will provide support, advise and coping tools, while connecting victims with others who have experienced similar situations in a space that promotes inclusivity and fun. They will also educate bullies about their effects of their actions and give them tips on how to change their behaviour. 

Products will include multicultural plush toys, stickers, cups, jewelry, accessories, and even a clothing line.
