What is the problem you found?

How might we improve the participation rates of young people in physical exercise?

Customer / Problem

Participating in physical activity is central to children’s health and wellbeing. Yet only 25% of children participate in physical activity outside of school. We are particularly focusing on young people who don't participate in team sports and VET students who require placements.

What Is Your Solution?

There is a gap in the market for gym/fitness organised activities for youth. Our solution is community-run gyms for young people that have subsidised memberships and fees. It will be focused on members aged 4-18. These gyms will be non-seasonal, fully supervised and provide a safe environment. We'll organise for VET students to run classes, programs, cafe, and all of the administration.

The gym will also have strong local community involvement, with support from local volunteers, local businesses and local community organisations.
