What is the problem you found?

The problem we have found is that there are a large number of visually impaired people in Australia, and a majority of visually impaired people find it hard to navigate. Additionally, a large amount of visually impaired people live in low income areas, and find it hard to manage payments for carers. Also, there are no companies that are solely created for the purpose of helping the visually impaired.

There are 575,000 visually impaired people in Australia, 92% of these people are 50 years old.

70-97% of visually impaired people are not confident in navigating through wide open areas.

90% of blind people live in low income countries/areas.

What is your opportunity?

How might we strive to make life accessible and easy and eliminate limitations that negatively impact visually impaired people?

Who is your audience?

Those of any age who are visibly impaired, who struggle with navigating wide open areas and throughout their life, and who can't afford to have a constant carer.

What Is Your Solution?

Our solution to this problem is creating a device that notifies the occupant of their surroundings through vibrations and audio.

Funding

We would need significant funding in order for this idea to work. We would also need advice on technological advancements and how this can be implemented in a real life scenario.
