What is the problem you found?

People don't have enough opportunities to showcase their unseen disability's because people think it's shameful and a good target for bullying.

What is your opportunity?

How might we educate individuals perspective on unseen disabilities and make it, so people want to learn?

Who is your audience?

All people who live with an unseen disability.

Our customer's pains include:
1. Not feeling confident to share their unseen disabilities
2. Being misunderstood because of their unseen disability
3. Feeling like they are alone/ the only one struggling with their condition
4. Feel disempowered
5. Feel misunderstood

So what would our customer gain from our product?
1. They will feel confident and empowered to share their unseen disability
2. They will be able to recognise other people that struggle with the same and/or a similar disability
3. The creation of a community
4. Teachers and parents will be able to identify if a young people has additional needs and help then effectively
5. Will encourage people to learn more about unseen disabilities

What Is Your Solution?

We are giving those an opportunity to showcase their unseen disabilities as well as educating individuals on how to positively interact with an Unseen disability.

The Unseen creates ribbons, where each colour or pattern represents different unseen disabilities. For example, green ribbon - depression, orange ribbon - ADHD ect. These are for students to wear in schools, in the general public and at work, so they don't have to constantly be explaining themselves to teachers or peers. They are also able to see if people around them experience a similar unseen disability, which helps them feel safe and supported.   We will sell these ribbons in schools to help teachers understand the needs of their students AND to help students connect with and understand their peers.

We know that some schools as well as students may be apposed to the brightly coloured ribbons being a part of the uniform; that is why we have come up with the idea of undercover collars! With funding and guidance, we hope to expand our product range to create shirts that have the unseen disability colours on the underside of colours, meaning students can flip their collars to show people their unseen disability when they are comfortable, and then flip them back to adhere to school uniform policies. This ensures that the school uniform is maintained, and allows students to show their unseen disabilities when they are comfortable doing so.

We have developed our idea with the guidance of Youth Incubator mentors.

Connections

We will need connections with QLD schools as well as local Councils to drive support for our product.

Funding

We believe that this idea has the potential to impact lives both inside and outside the school system.
To kick-start our idea, we will need either seed funding or Council grants. This funding will go towards collecting resources to create and market our MVP product.

Advice

We just need some good advice on our business, prototype

Development

To develop our product, we will need to work with other seamstresses/ workers. We would also like to build a website and out social media presence and will need marketing assistance to achieve this.
