What is the problem you found?

That farm waste is either not recycled at all or just left lying around on the farm and most of this could be reused or repurposed.

What is your opportunity?

How could we make it so that farm waste was reused in an ecological and cheap way.

Who is your audience?

Farmers with waste like feed bags, sharps or chemical containers

What Is Your Solution?

A return and earn style project/company for farm waste. The waste could be exchanged for gift cards/vouchers at certain wholesale farm stores.

Our concept is to reduce the amount of farm waste and increase the percentage of rural citizens participating in the recycling of their everyday waste. We have designed a depositing system similar to the bottle recycling return and earn. Four different categories are available to be recycled. Each of these categories has a payment system, 10c for each plastic item, 20c for each feed bag deposited, and 50c for every sharps and chemical bottle deposited. The money earned will give the recycler a voucher to various rural supply stores.
Plastics will be cleaned and then shredded into fine strips and then melted down to form new pellets and finally made into the new products.

Connections

We need to connect with rural towns as well as recycling agencies for our idea

Funding

We would utilise council funding to back our idea and help us develop our first working prototype.

Development

To develop our idea we will need to create a working prototype and validate our theories.
