Responsible Consumption & Production

What is the problem you found?

Make-up packaging is too wasteful.
Make-up is a big part of a teenagers life (and adult!), and they are constantly buying new products which are wasteful and toxic for our environment.

What is your opportunity?

How might we recycle the plastic from cosmetic packaging into something useful in a fun way with minimal wastage?

Who is your audience?

People who don't want a large negative impact on the environment.
Large make-up businesses and companies such as Sophora and Mecca.

What Is Your Solution?

Create cosmetic packages with plastic that has a low melting temp so that the consumer can remake it into something else.

Plasti-Make is a company that turns one product into another. Packaging of cosmetics that you can reuse, it comes with carbon-safe plastic that can be melted down and then put into a range of molds, claw clips, hairclips, book marks etc. It comes with instructions to melt down plastic put it into the mold and then you have a new product.

We need advice around out physical prototype and risks involved with our idea.
We would also like to talk to scientists to see how this would be possible at home.
