How might we get shops to sell more sustainable products in the community of Mentone?

Customer / Problem

Our customers are going to be local businesses and the community that buys products from them. The problems that customers experience are that they don't know which packaging is recyclable, and which packaging goes into the general waste. There is also a lack of awareness around sustainable and socially responsible supply chains. Businesses may face challenges in being ethical due to a shortage of affordable sustainable materials to produce and package their products.

What Is Your Solution?

Our solution is to make stickers to indicate what rubbish bin each product belongs too. Through a colour coding system, such as green for compostable, red for general waste, and yellow for recycling, consumers will be able to easily recognise and make informed choices about which brands they choose to support. Additional colours will indicate whether the product was ethically made, such as a purple sticker to indicate whether employees work in good conditions and are paid properly. Businesses will be incentivised to ensure that their products match the criteria for sustainable and ethical production.
